About Us | The Purrtastic Presents Story

I’ve been a proud cat lady for as long as I can remember—and a creative soul just as long. Back in the long, strange days of the 2020 lockdowns, I found myself craving a creative outlet and searching for a way to honour my two beloved rescue cats, Peggy and Sally, who had meant the world to me. Whatever I created, it had to be cat-related. Obviously.

As I explored what was already out there, I quickly hit a wall. So many cat-themed t-shirts and mugs looked exactly the same—recycled slogans, generic paw prints, and designs that just felt… dull. Tacky, even. Where was the originality? The boldness? The fun?

That’s when I had a lightbulb moment: why not make my own? I wanted to create a range of bold, stylish, and genuinely original cat lover clothing and gifts—designed by a real cat lady, for real cat ladies. And so, Purrtastic Presents was born!

It didn’t happen overnight. It took months of trial and error—coming up with the perfect name, designing the logo, learning how to launch a clothing line, figuring out how to get everything made sustainably in the UK and USA, and tackling the beast that is building your own website (spoiler: it was not easy!).

But I finally did it—and I’m so proud of what Purrtastic Presents has become. I design every item myself, and I only sell things I’d genuinely wear, use, or gift to fellow cat lovers. Each design is created with cat-titude, heart, and a whole lot of humour.

My mission? To shake up the tired “crazy cat lady” stereotype and replace it with something way cooler: bold, funny, empowering designs that help cat lovers express who they really are. Because let’s face it—being a cat lady is awesome.

So whether you're a fellow devoted cat mom, or just looking for the purrfect gift for someone who is, I’m so glad you found my store.

What does "Purrtastic" mean?

It's a mix of "purr" and "fantastic"! Yay! 🐾❤️

What was Peggy and Sally's adoption story?

Back in 2005, I was ready to welcome my very first cats as an adult—and I knew right away that I wanted to adopt. That’s when I came across Peggy and Sally, a beautiful pair of littermates looking for a new forever home. Their elderly owner had sadly passed away, and at just four years old, these sweet girls suddenly found themselves without a family.

When I saw their story and those soulful adoption photos, I felt an instant connection. It was one of those rare moments where you just know. After a home visit from the rescue organisation and a trip to meet them in their foster home, I was over the moon to be approved as their new cat mom.

Bringing Peggy and Sally home was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. They weren’t just pets—they became my soulmates, my shadows, my constant comfort through life’s ups and downs. Their personalities were full of sass, affection, and gentle wisdom, and they quickly took over my heart (and the house).

Years later, they became the inspiration behind Purrtastic Presents. I created this store to celebrate the deep bond we share with our cats—especially those we’ve rescued and loved deeply. Peggy and Sally’s journey from rescue cats to cherished family members is the heartbeat of everything I design.

Although they’re no longer with me physically, their memory lives on in every product, every design, and every little moment of joy this shop brings to fellow cat lovers. They’ll always be by my side—in spirit, in inspiration, and in every purrtastic thing I create.

Who is Bodhi and what was his adoption story?

After Peggy and Sally sadly passed away at 17 and 20 years old respectively, their absence left the biggest void in my life and in my heart. It was some time later that their vet reached out to me about a young cat (about 10 months old at the time) who had been abandoned at their surgery. He wasn't neutered and was really scared of men and other cats 😢 They had been looking after him for a couple of months and had gotten really attached to him but he couldn't carry on living at the practice. He needed a loving forever home. That's when they approached me to ask if I'd be interested in adopting him. I said yes without even having met him because it felt like this was meant to be. And that’s how my sweet, independent and cheeky Bodhi came into my life. ❤️

Who is Bailey and what was her adoption story?

I had been thinking about getting a sibling for Bodhi for a while and after I’d had him for about 2 years, I saw another Facebook post from the same vet where Bodhi was abandoned about 5 kittens that had been dumped outside their door on a busy road in the cold November weather - and all crammed into one cat carrier! The kittens were about 5-6 months old and I knew immediately that I wanted to give one of them a forever home. There were two black males, two tabby males and one tortie girl. I had my heart set on the tortie girl and hoped I would be chosen from the all the people who showed an interest in them. We drove down to London to spend some time with the kittens who were being cared for and socialised at our vet and the little girl just tugged at my heart strings. I was lucky enough to be selected and after she recovered from being spayed I adopted her, and that’s how my beautiful, feisty and sweet Bailey came into my life. ❤️

I'm not only about cats, I love all animals!

As an animal lover, I’ve been featured in various national and international news when I led rescue efforts to help a swan that had landed on the railway tracks and then would not move from the side of the road, in a West London (UK) suburb, where I lived at the time.

I documented the whole situation from when I first spotted the swan on the tracks to when I managed to organise a volunteer from a wildlife bird rescue organisation to come out on a freezing January night to take him to their sanctuary. He was checked out and released back to the Thames river a few days later.

My Twitter posts were picked up by the media and my story, photos and videos were used by many international news agencies, some of which included:
